Donald Trump was banned from Instagram by Facebook in 2021 due to unrest on Capitol Hill. Following two years away from social media, the former president is returning to it. Social media giant Meta announced it would lift the ban within weeks.

The announcement was made by Blockpost President Nick Clegg, who also explained the conditions and reasons why the former US president has been allowed to return to social media. According to Meta’s blog post, new measures have been implemented to prevent crime from recurrence. Facebook or Instagram will ban Trump again if he posts something against their rules.

After January 6, 2021, Donald Trump’s account will be banned from social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The Meta Authority reports that Donald Trump is subject to the same rules on Facebook and Instagram as all other users. As with all Facebook and Instagram users, Donald Trump is subject to the company’s standards.

According to Nick Clegg, president of global affairs at Mater, any post that violates the rules will be removed. Trump will be banned again for a period of one month to two years based on the severity of his violation. Donald Trump was banned indefinitely by Meta after posting about the unrest throughout the United States after losing the US presidential election.
